Safety Issues:
No Pets, bicycles, roller blades,
roller skis, wagon’s, or skate boards. They are not
allowed at any time on the day of the event. Due to safety
and insurance reasons, all participants pushing strollers
and baby joggers must walk in the 10:00 a.m.
non competitive event.
Please be environmentally responsible. Do
not take any balloon décor from event grounds.
Champion Disposable Timing Chip – This
is for the 9:30 event only. Be sure to lace your chip to
your shoe securely. Parents with children… check
your children’s shoes. This year the timing chip is
disposable. Once you have crossed the finish, you may discard
the timing chip into the trash.
Do not cross the finish line
twice.
**Note: If you lose your timing
chip, replacement fee is $5
Parking and Shuttle Bus – Please
carpool. The parking map is on the race entry form.
Utilize the parking garages
in Dale Street by Providence Alaska Medical Center.
This is the easiest and most
accessible place to park. UAA Shuttle Busses will be available.
Wheelchair Start – The
Competitive wheelchair event will start 5 minutes prior to
the main start of each event.
The Course – Be observant
of your location and traffic at all times. Listen and follow
instructions from the course monitors.
Finish– there will be
one common finish for both men and women. Once you have crossed
the finish line, stay in single file to the end of the chute.
Do not pass after the finish, do not pass in the chute. Move
rapidly through the finish area to avoid back-ups. Once through
the area, please move away from the chute area to avoid clogging.
Under no circumstances cross the
finish line twice.
Kid’s Medals – Children
6th grade and under. Remember to pick up your medal!
After The Race– Be courteous
of those still participating. Do not stand or walk on
the start/finish road.
First Aid – Available
near the start / finish area. Medical personnel will also
be on the course, look for the safety vests.
